'By 2010, cancer will be the #1 killer (replacing cardiovascular disease) throughout Canada, and the number one cause of PREVENTABLE illness,' said Barbara Kaminsky, chief executive officer of the Canadian Cancer Society, BC division." Although
BC has lower cancer rates than the rest of the country, the article goes
on to state:
I believe (and Barbara Kaminsky agrees) that cancer is a PREVENTABLE illness. And importantly ... when you're taking steps to prevent cancer, the side benefits can be life-changing. Increased energy, increased flexibility and mobility, a stronger immune system, improved focus and concentration, healthier and more beautiful hair and skin, cellular rejuvenation, greater overall health, decreased risk of other degenerative disease, less stress, and more peace and happiness. There is no way I can cover the topic of cancer in any in-depth way in one article. What I can do, however, is summarize three key points that EVERYONE should know, whether you have cancer, don't have cancer, are at risk, or simply want to have vastly improved health, energy and quality of life. 1) Regarding Free Radicals (Invasion of the Energy-Snatchers) Free Radical Damage is the #1 underlying root cause of most degenerative disease, and this damage is stealing your precious health and energy. I think
just about everyone has heard that Free Radicals are "bad", but so few
seem to really know WHY. So why would you be motivated to do anything
about it if you don't even understand it? I used to completely tune out
on this subject, because when I didn't understand it, I felt stupid. Surprisingly, it's actually not complicated to understand at all. Your cells are the direct cause of what's affecting your health and energy. Therefore, it is critical to nourish and take care of the trillions of cells in your body.
And not just cancer ... abnormal cells create abnormal conditions, which means abnormal disease. Disease is not a normal state! Free Radical damage is one of the biggest reasons why the healthy fiunctioning of your cells goes sideways, which leads to a smorgasbord of problems ... not just cancer. 3) Regarding Your State Of Mind Stress, another huge subject with huge implications. We all know that too much stress isn't good for us, and yet it's so prevalent. Everywhere I go, I see people who are stressing out, burning out, freaking out ... what's with all the stress? Many studies have been conducted examining the link between stress and cancer. Results have been inconclusive, as it's a very complex issue to work out. One area that has shown more of a direct link, however, is with breast cancer.
Given breast cancer is the second most common form of cancer-related death in women (preceded only by lung cancer), this is something to pay very close attention to. Contrary to popular opinion, only 5-10% of breast cancer is hereditary. (Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation) Again, it's not just about cancer. Stress affects everything, and it's plain old common sense that too much of it is just a bad idea.
I can just hear some of you saying, "Sure Christine, thanks for the lecture, next time I want one I'll go talk to my mother." I'm just so incredibly passionate about all of us leading outrageously healthy happy lives with ease. When I hear that almost 9,000 people in BC alone are going to die from only one disease this year, I just want to weep. And I have wept. Children losing a parent. Parents losing a child. Friends losing friends. It just breaks my heart, because so much of it is preventable. After my own experience many years ago of one horrible health challenge after another, culminating in a rare eye disease that was supposed to leave me blind, I've become quite the mind-body afficiondo in wellness. I'm hugely motivated to share what I've learned, because it has not only helped transform my own life, but the thousands of people I've worked with over the years. If you are interested in achieving maximum results with the least amount of effort for day-to-day quality of life, health, energy and vitality (as well as vastly increasing chances of disease prevention), here's my top three tips for results: 1) Optimize Your Cells First, make sure you've read my free eReport on Anti-Aging, so you "get" the Free Radical piece (and there's some other great nuggets of info in this report, too). Remember, Free Radical damage is the #1 underlying root cause of disease, and it's also stealing your precious energy. Second, I'll make no if's and's or but's about it. Optimal supplementation is absolutely critical if you want to stay healthy, energized and gorgeous. Food may have been enough 50 years ago, but not any more. Because of soil depletion, chemical toxicity, stress, etc, there is no way we can get enough nutrition from food alone nowadays. As a matter of fact, the University of Texas just completed a study that showed a 38% decrease in the nutrients we get from our fruits and vegetables over the past decade. 38% less in just ten years! You of course want to make sure you're eating smart as well as supplementing smart. Two cups of veggies a day (preferably organic), fresh fruit, whole grains, protein from wild fish and organically-fed animals, lots of purified water, moderate exercise ... all common sense. For my recommendations on any easy and effective system for Optimal Nutrition, please feel free to send me an email. 2) Interrupt the Programming "If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got." If you want different results, it requires believing and doing things differently. It doesn't mean you have to turn your life upside-down and change everything. Small simple changes can create huge results. Believing you always have Choice (even when it doesn't particularly look like it at the time) is a program-interruptor that creates a very strong foundation. If I had believed I had no choice about going blind, then I would be blind today or worse. But I made a choice for something different, even in the face of all evidence to the contrary. And I am a medical miracle, and tthe health of my eyes today is healthier than 15 years ago. Different results stem from different beliefs which result in different actions. Miracles absolutely happen, and we should actually expect them. But just waiting around for a miracle to show up isn't how it works. It requires interrupting the programming. What are you willing to believe or do differently, to get a different result? 3) De-Stress Don't
just think about it. And don't "should on yourself" about it, either. Do what?
Well, whatever resonates with you. Massage. Quiet time. Nature walks.
Aromatherapy baths. Date nights. Day spas. Babysitting exchanges. Journalling.
Meditation. Retreats. All of the above.
You and your loved ones don't have to end up a statistic. Take steps NOW to be healthier and happier than you may have believed possible. And always remember ... when you go within and connect with the precious beautiful soul that you truly are, time stands still and only perfection exists in that moment. This is about quality of day-to-day life, whether you're 19 or 119. Energy, mobility, radiance, focus, excellent health, less stress, and more peace and happiness.
